Brown-nose your way to the top..
it's easy to make it big in music these days - that is if you're willing to have no shame, no principles and no limits to how far you will go to big yourself up, no matter how shite your music is. The techno and minimal scenes are literally littered with polished turds who took the right drugs with the right people, agreed with everything they said, plied them with even more cocaine, and then slipped their demo cd in their record box. How many times have I seen the smaller artist literally cumming in there pants at the chance of meeting one of music's "Mr Big"s no matter how much of an arsewipe they may be, ready to fill their ego, nose and bumhole in one fell swoop? I'm sure there are some real people still out there, but the idiot ratio, especially in techno music seems to be rising by the week. Ten years ago, I'm sure that techno was considered more of an intellectual kind of music.. now it seems to be getting dumberer and dumberer.. because it's all about bumhole now.. and coke.. anyone tried blowing coke up their bumhole?
Dumbfuck Whinehouse inlaws unwittingly help her sell more records....
In the guardian today was this article about Amy Winehouse's in-laws getting their knickers in a twist about the couples drug use.. now I couldn't give two fucks about Amy Whinehouse (sic) or her boyfriend, or what drugs they're taking this week, but I find it quite amusing how these "concerned parents" unwittingly gave Ms Whinehouse (sic) even more column inches by pleading with fans to stop buying their records, and that she be banned from receiving awards, particuarly the 3 mobos she was nominated for last week...Why stop there? Maybe she should be grounded with pocketmoney suspended for a few weeks, and banned from driving the Jag? pleeze....

Internet forums
when are you going to learn, arguing about MP3 vs Vinyl, Hardware vs Software and Jeff Mills or Ritchie Hawtin is just fucking dumb.....
Genres and sheep mentality
Why is it that some people seem to latch on to a certain style of music once it's been given a name and is recognised as some kind of sub sub sub genre? and then why do they precede to buy play and listen only to music in that sub sub genre? Do they think that they are at the forefront of some newly emerging "scene"? Cos from where I'm standing it seems like sheep mentality.
You could be doing something for yourself, something you feel is interesting, but just your own shit, and people around you will be telling you "well mate, it's alright, but it's not what the kids want is it?".. 3 years later the same people will be blagging you for your guestlist trying to latch on to this great new "thing".. give it another 3 years, and after that it will be dead, totally lacking any imagination whatsoever, as a whole load of wannabee "producers" (yeah, right mate, having a copy of ableton or reason you downloaded of a warez site does NOT make you a producer) set out to produce music in this sub sub sub genre..
People have become so used to having things marketed for their consumption that if something isn't marketed with a "style" or "image" they don't know what to do.. "Can't fit it into a little pidgeon hole? Don't know what to do with it, I think I'll give it a miss and keep listening to these acid skiffle records, because I know I like that, and I know my clothes fit with that, and it's the REALLY COOL thing to be into right now"..

Labels doing compilation e.p.s for every release.
There was a time when a record label would release a tidy little compilation featuring 4 of it's artists every ten releases or so, or maybe 4 new artists as a bit of a showcase. But more and more I'm seeing & being asked for trax by labels who seem to want to do compilation e.p. every release, as they've been told by their distributor it's the best way to sell records. Even worse seems to be the fact that these e.p.s seem to consist of one cool track by a name artist, along with 3 other trax by the label owner and/or friends of the label owner which are a pile of shit.. so what's the deal here? you get the cool artists track to carry your half arse bullshit trax? are you hoping for greatness by being associated with the said name? Waiting for those 2000 euro gigs to come rolling in? You'll be waiting a long time, me thinx...
